Successful Formula 4 premiere

After a demanding seven-day qualifying process with over 50 participants, Jasin Ferati is one of the candidates for a place in the final at Feed Racing France, Jacques Villeneuve's Formula 4 academy in Magny-Cours, France.

Jasin Ferati made a promising debut in Formula 4 with the leap into the quarter-finals of Feed Racing at the beginning of August. The switch from karting to the much more powerful racing car was not a problem for the 16-year-old from Winterthur. This week he took the next two steps on the Magny-Cours club circuit. Only with a bit of luck did he qualify for the semi-finals, in which the originally 50-strong field of participants was reduced to 16. This is where he showed his true potential. In the classification of the three fastest laps in difficult conditions, he missed the direct place in the final by only seven hundredths of a second in seventh place.

Nevertheless, Ferati can still hope for a starting place with Carlin in the British Formula 4 Championship 2020, which beckons the overall winner of Feed Racing France. "Since Jasin and three other candidates were not even a tenth of a second off the fifth-placed in the dry and were also among the fastest with the rain tires, we want to give them an additional opportunity in November to qualify for the final," explained the former Formula -1 world champion Jacques Villeneuve, who wants to support young talents with his academy without much financial backing and was impressed by the good performance.

"I'm really happy about this opportunity and I'll give everything to be able to continue my career in Formula 4," assured Ferati. “Villeneuve and his entire crew have given me great support and have pushed me forward. It is now up to me to continue on this path and avoid unnecessary mistakes like in the quarter-finals.”

This weekend, however, the return to karting awaits and with it a completely different challenge for the young man from Winterthur. At the penultimate run of the German Electric Kart Championship in Ampfing, Bavaria, Ferati, second overall, wants to further reduce the gap to leader Luka Wlömer so that he can then fight for the title in Sarno in three weeks.
