The youngest is the fastest

Successful debut for Jasin Ferati in the new environment: The 18-year-old from Winterthur impressed on the first race weekend of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Suisse with a win, second place, pole position and the fastest race laps.

The youngest was also the fastest on the Red Bull Ring. Jasin Ferati made the switch from the Formula 3 racing car to the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. At his GT debut, the Porsche Junior impressed with strong performances in the 510 hp bolide of the Schwyz team Fach Auto Tech and was close to the maximum number of points in the lead in the sprint, which was well filled with 21 Porsche 992 GTR 3 Cup vehicles of equal value Challenge Suisse taken over. The man from Winterthur was still not completely satisfied. A driving mistake on the 13th lap cost the 18-year-old with the starting number 13 victory in the first race and an even better balance sheet after a long lead.

In the second race, Ferati made it to the top of the podium after a cautious start from second position. He fought his way past the leading Bernese veteran Jürg Aeberhard with three laps to go and celebrated his first victory since winning the German Electric Kart Championship in 2019. Thanks to this success, second place behind Aeberhard in the first race and nine extra points for pole position and the fastest laps in both races, Ferati drives to Le Castellet as the leader for the second event of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Suisse on the last weekend in May.

Immediately felt comfortable

Jasin Ferati: “First of all, I would like to thank everyone who believed in me and made it possible for me to compete in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Suisse this season with the FACH AUTO TECH team.

The debut was a great weekend at the Red Bull Ring. I immediately felt comfortable in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and was fast right from the start. Regardless of tire condition, I finished in the top three in almost all of the nine practice sessions. When things got serious on the third day, I secured pole position in qualifying. That was extremely cool.

I got off to a good start in the first race. I was able to quickly pull away from second and had everything under control. Then the safety car came out because of an accident. As a result, everyone was close to me again. After the restart, I made a small driving error that shouldn't have happened. So I lost the lead and only finished second. That's part of my learning process. The speed is right, but I still have a lot to learn. But with the support of my well-established team, I will definitely be able to improve even further.

In the second race I started from second place on the grid and successfully defended this position despite heavy attacks. Although the gap to the leader quickly became quite large, I didn't give up, got everything out of the car and overtook him with three laps to go.

To be on top of the podium at the first race weekend of the year felt great. I will do everything in the next races to experience that feeling again.”
