Ferati new in the Carrera Cup

New challenge for Jasin Ferati: The 19-year-old Winterthur racing driver is switching from the national to the international stage and will start in 2023 with a 515 hp GT racing car in the top-class Porsche Carrera Cup Germany.

The 34th edition of the traditional championship, the races of which are broadcast live on public television, includes eight race weekends with two races each. The start at the end of April will take place in Spa-Francorchamps as part of the FIA World Endurance Championship. At the beginning of June, the Carrera Cup is the focus of the anniversary event "75 Years of Porsche Sports Cars" in Hockenheim. This will be followed by six appearances as part of the DTM supporting program in Zandvoort, at the Nürburgring, Lausitzring, Sachsenring and Red Bull Ring in Spielberg and at the season finale in Hockenheim in mid-October.

More than 30 drivers from all over the world are part of the field of participants in the Carrera Cup Germany. In addition to the overall ranking, there are separate rankings for rookies and amateurs. Ferati's more experienced team-mates are his former karting rival Alexander Fach, with whom he won the Misano two-hour race last season, and Morris Schuring. The young Dutchman finished sixth in the championship last year.

"I am very much looking forward to continuing to work with Fach Auto Tech,” says Ferati. “Moving up from the Sports Cup Suisse to the second-highest level of the Porsche one-make cups is a big challenge because of the much stronger competition. The successful Swiss team from Sattel works professionally and is still very familiar. These are good prerequisites for my ambitious goal of conquering the rookie title. I'm well prepared, I feel ready and can't wait to get back in the car for the first test on March 20th.” This year's emergency vehicle is a further development of the familiar Porsche 911 GTR Cup GT with 515 hp.

It's no secret that the promotion of young talent is a top priority at Fach Auto Tech. Successful works riders like Matt Campbell and Nick Yelloly went through the school of Alex Fach and his team. The latest example of this and role model for Ferati is the Briton Lorcan Hanafin, who won the rookie classification last year. "The training of young motorsport talents is particularly important to us," says team manager Alex Fach. “Our base is in the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse, in which Jasin captured the GT3 title in his debut year thanks to six victories and four other podium finishes. In order to offer the talented prospects, we are also involved in the Carrera Cup and Supercup. In this way, the next generation is specifically prepared for higher series. We want to continue this concept with Jasin Ferati in 2023.”
