Season best equalized

The leap into midfield was definitely a success. At the third race weekend of the Porsche Carrera Cup, Jasin Ferati equaled the previous best performance of the season in 14th place. A few more points would have been possible in Zandvoort.

Larry ten Voorde won both races at his home game in the Netherlands and thus took over the lead in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland again. Behind the impressive local hero, the wild youngsters fought fiercely for every point in the run-up to the DTM in front of 24,000 fans. 19-year-old Jasin Ferati from Winterthur was also involved. The driver from the Fach Auto Tech team defended his best starting position in Sunday's race and, finishing 14th, scored points for the second time in a row. It was annoying that he lost two more positions in the final laps. "I fought back, but I was on the limit and didn't want to risk a zero number.

On Saturday, Ferati was moved back to 24th place due to a penalty from the previous race at Hockenheim. Undeterred by this, he staged a great race to catch up. Benefiting from five retirements, he ended up missing further points by just two seconds in 17th place. “With these results, I achieved my minimum goal, but nothing more,” summed up the proud member of the Porsche Talent Pool. “After just one day of testing on the famous Grand Prix circuit, I had a hunch that it could be difficult against some of the much more experienced competitors. Nevertheless, I was hoping for a little more and that would have been possible with better qualifying. But there are also positive findings. Although I can only ride a little for financial reasons, I now have a clear idea of my pace. I've definitely arrived in the middle of the 34-strong starting field and only a little is missing for the top 10 classifications that I'm aiming for. I am still in an often painful learning process. With the support of my ambitious team and the committed environment, I want to and will continue to advance as the season progresses.”

In Zandvoort, Ferati also had luck on his side. At the first start, he missed the driver standing in front of him by a hair's breadth. The second shock follows a little later when he had to avoid a violent collision and was only able to return to his original starting position thanks to the immediately scheduled restart and did not have to start from the back.
