Ferati's Finale Furioso

Ferati's Finale Furioso

Tailor-made end to the season for Jasin Ferati in the Porsche Carrera Cup: The 20-year-old from Winterthur finished 10th in the last race at the Hockenheimring and captured two more podium places among the rookies.

With top 10 positions across the entire field of drivers and trophies in the rookie classification, Jasin Ferati has set himself ambitious goals for this season. The Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, with its prominent 32-strong starting field, is one of the most prestigious international one-make cups and has already served as a springboard for great careers for many talented people. Hockenheim was the venue for the final event on the DTM weekend, and here Ferati lived up to all expectations.

In the first race, he brought his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, which had been badly damaged by several hits in the starting phase, to the finish line in 15th place and was able to finish on the podium as the third-best rookie. The next day he improved by seven positions with an impeccable car, achieved the second-best result of the season in tenth place and won another trophy as the third-best rookie. Without a slip in the final stages when the tires gave way, an even better result would have been possible.

The second Hockenheim appearance was not just a success in terms of results. Ferati also impressed with good lap times and courageous overtaking maneuvers. He was able to keep up with the pace of the leading group and was only 0.149 and 0.279 seconds slower on his fastest lap than his much more experienced teammates Alexander Fach and Morris Schuring, who took 5th and 10th place in the final standings. Ferati finished the debut season in the 510 hp Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in 17th place with 36 points and was the fifth best rookie.

The Dutch proved to be almost unbeatable this year. Larry ten Voorde, who has already become champion, won his 50th Carrera Cup race at Hockenheim. His friend Loek Hartog in the GP Elite team, which also dominated the team rankings, took second place in the final rankings away from Porsche junior Bastian Buus with his fifth win of the season.
