Four wins in four races and five best times in six practice sessions or qualifying sessions: Jasin Ferati put his stamp on the third weekend of the German Electric Kart Championship and advanced to second place in the overall standings.

Jasin Ferati gave herself the best present for her 16th birthday. The Winterthur kart driver won all the races at the guest appearance of the German Electric Kart Championship (DEKM) in Genk, Belgium, and can become champion again on his own. Taking into account the discarded results, only 13 points separate him from the German favorite Luka Wlömer before the last two events. “Since second place in Kerpen I know that I can win. Now I'm really happy that I was able to implement it. But I would not have thought it possible that I would be in front from the first practice session to the last race.”

The Swiss rookie was in top form on his favorite track. He dominated all training sessions and was the first driver in the still young history of the world's first electric kart championship, in which identical Rotax Thunder e-karts are driven, to win all four races of a weekend. Being second in the first qualifying, he only missed the maximum points by 33 thousandths of a second. “If I had been last on the track like in the practice sessions and in the other qualifying session, that would have worked too,” said Ferati, annoyed about the only flaw in an otherwise perfect weekend. He also attributed this to the fact that he was completely relaxed at the start and didn't feel any pressure. "Maybe that's how it is after a certain age," he teased.

After five successful days on racetracks in France and Belgium, Ferati can now enjoy a well-deserved vacation before things get serious in his professional life. At the beginning of September, the real highlight of the kart season 2019 will follow in Finland with the World Championships in the OK category. The decision in the DEKM will be made at the beginning and end of October in tranquil Ampfing and as part of the Rotax World Finals in Sarno near Naples.
