Ferati back with experienced team

Jasin Ferati returns to Formula Regional and contests the last six races of the season in Valencia, Mugello and Monza with the Finnish team KIC Motorsport alongside last year's Brazilian winner Giancluca Petekof and the German Nico Göhler.

Feelers were already out with regard to next year, but now things are suddenly moving fast with the cooperation between Jasin Ferati and the KIC Motorsport team, currently sixth in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA). The 18-year-old from Winterthur got back into the Finns' Tatuus T318 Formula 3 car for the first time during official testing on Thursday, which he had already tried out in Spa-Francorchamps. The rookie will contest the next two races of the unofficial Formula 3 European Championship with his new team at the weekend and will also start at the season-ending events in Mugello (October 7th to 10th) and Monza (October 29th to 31st). be.

At KIC Motorsport, Ferati is the second newcomer of the year. After a brief stint in the FIA Formula 2 at the Red Bull Ring, last year's winner Giancluca Petekof took over the cockpit of Patrick Pasma, who had previously scored points and who switched to the top team ART Grand Prix at short notice. The Swiss replaces the Finn Elias Seppänen, who is struggling with insurmountable budget problems, and will do everything possible to do better with Petri Lappalainen's ambitious squad than in the first half of the season with the Italian entry-level team Monolite Racing.

“Although I only missed one race weekend after parting ways with Monolite, there's nothing I would rather do than get back in the car after a turbulent break,” reveals Ferati. “I'm really happy that I can contest the rest of the season with KIC Motorsport. I got to know the team in rainy Francorchamps as a driver and on the Red Bull Ring as an attentive observer and I feel very well looked after here. I can feel that the team is very experienced and consistently strives for good results. That gives me extra motivation. The same applies to the scene of the comeback. With Valencia added to the calendar as a belated replacement for the Nürburgring, the demanding circuit is new territory for virtually all drivers and most teams too. All have started from scratch in testing. That promises more equal opportunities and additional excitement.”

KIC team manager Peter Flythström is confident about working with the young Swiss: “We got to know Jasin as an ambitious and extremely focused driver. We wanted to have him in the team for next season and are therefore extremely happy that it is already working out.”
