Educational season extension

A great honor for Jasin Ferati: the 19-year-old from Winterthur is one of twelve contenders for the coveted title of “Porsche Junior of the Year”.

The good performance and Jasin Ferati's title win in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Suisse didn't fail to have an impact. The driver of the Swiss team Fach Auto Tech has been nominated for the traditional shoot-out as the youngest of twelve candidates and as the first Swiss ever. The official Porsche Junior of the year is determined at this intense event. "It was an unexpected and extremely instructive extension of the season," revealed the ambitious Winterthur youngster. “I was able to integrate well and keep up with the competitors, some of whom were much more experienced. The whole thing was a cool, fantastically organized affair among like-minded people.”

Porsche's exemplary junior program has been one of the most successful of its kind in motorsport for almost 26 years. It paved the way for many participants to a professional career as a works driver and produced numerous world champions and Le Mans winners. The winner can look forward to a great sponsorship package and further support in the next season. The new Porsche Junior will be announced as part of the “Night of Champions” on December 17 at the Porsche Development Center in Weissach.

The greatest common denominator of all the invited candidates: They are no more than 24 years old and have finished in the top five this year with the 510 hp 911 GT3 Cup in one of over 30 Porsche brand cup series around the world. In Jerez they had to prove their skills on and off the 4.428-kilometre Grand Prix track for three days. In addition to the pure lap times and the general performance on the track, the jury also evaluates the cooperation with the race engineers, the understanding of technology, dealing with the media and the results of mental and physical fitness tests.
